Technical Details

Indowud Natural Fiber Composite Board (NFC) is made from the composition of eco-friendly natural fibers (agricultural husks), natural minerals, polyvinyl chloride, fillers, and additives. Indowud is not NFC plywood or wood fiberboard. Wood fiberboards have wood particles, while Indowud NFC board only contains agricultural husk.

The use of agricultural husks helps contribute to preventing air pollution by minimizing the need for waste husk burning.

CII has certified Indowud NFC as a Sustainable Green Product and has awarded our product with the GreenPro ecolabel. A product that bears the GreenPro Ecolabel signifies a lower environmental impact.

Creation

Selection of Raw Materials

We acquire high-quality PVC Resin from Japan and South Korea and have partnered with Indian farming communities for the supply of natural fibers.

Matrix Formulation

These polymers and fibers are mixed with minerals, coupling agents, heat stabilizers and necessary additives. Under monitored temperature and pressure, the compound forms a homogeneous matrix which is responsible for bonding the polymers and fibers.

Interface Strength

The bonds and density of the compound are the deciding factors in the interfacial strength of each board. High internal strength is achieved through proper engineering of fiber dispersion and interfacial bonding to achieve better impact resistance.

Manufacturing

The compound is then extruded under a controlled temperature in a continuous process through various calibration pads. The cooling bracket is the final stage of the process flow. Finally, the boards are taken for further processing like transverse cutting, trimming, and surface processing.
